The goal of the mentorship program is to promote the academic and personal growth of young women surgeons and support their academic and professional growth.
The mentor and mentee sign a contract for the cycle after the match at the first meeting. A strategic plan is made based on the goals and advice of the pair. Regular meetings between the pair are done to ensure that the mentee is on track. At the end of the year, the a report is submitted.

The program started in March 2019 and it has been growing since. The application opens in February of every year for mentors and mentees. It is announced on WSK social media platforms. The mentor-mentee match is announced by end of February and the program starts in March. For the coming cycle, the application opens in February 2023. The next cycle will begin in March 2023 and ends in February 2024.
